The Restoration series by Christian Author Terri Blackstock consists of four books:  Last Light, Night Light, True Light, and Dawn's Light.  I truly enjoyed each of these books!  From the very beginning, I could not put them down.  Imagine everything shutting down in an instant....no communication, no transportation, no electricity....nothing works!  This is what happens when they experience a surge at the beginning of the first book, Last Light.  From that moment on, life as we know it has ended.  This series shows how people work through these difficult times to survive.

This is the sequel to the book Trading Faces. This book continues with Emma and Payton, and in this book they have to do their punishments for trading places. Emma has to tutor twins, (Jason and Mason) who try to trade places when she tutors them. While Emma is tutoring the twins, Payton has to clean up the storage room for the Drama Club. Also their school’s Drama Club is doing a play, The Wizard of Oz! Payton is really disappointed because she loves Drama Club and wants to join it after her punishments are over. When one of the girls in the Drama Club gets hurt on the night of the opening act, they don’t have anyone to replace her! The drama teacher asks Payton to do her part since she knows all the lines. The Cupcake Club Series

This series is about a girl (Kylie Carson) who is sad because her old drama teacher is leaving and she is getting a new one. Her drama teacher tells her that she’ll like the new one, but she isn’t sure. On the first day of school, the new drama teacher (Juliette) tells her that she should make a cupcake club, so she does. She invites three other girls, Sadie, Jenna, and Lexi. They aren’t that excited about joining the club, but they still join. In the first meeting they burn the first batch of cupcakes and put the wrong amount of ingredients in the cupcake. After a couple more batches, they make decent cupcakes. The club starts to turn into a business after they start to make cupcakes for the owner of a store. They met the owner at a school fundraising

event. They start selling cupcakes like crazy! They event get to appear on a baking show called “Battle of the Bakers”. If you want to find out what else happens in this wonderful series, find the first book, “The Cupcake Club” at a library or a store near you!

The Fourth Stall

The Fourth Stall is a thrilling action book that will scare you at some points, and make you laugh at other times. Christian “Mac” Barrett, a normal 6^th grader, runs a secret business at school where he helps students out- for a fee, of course. He runs the business from the fourth stall from the window in the boy’s restroom in the East Wing of the school. His employees include his best friend, Vince, and his strongman, Joe. But one day, a third grader named Fred comes in and asks for protection from Staples, a teen who had dropped out of school, became a delinquent, started a gambling ring, and is known for the horrific legends that pass through town all the time. Mac is shocked to hear that Staples is a real person, but he will be even more shocked in the events and ordeals to come, leading to the near destruction of his business, friends, and life. The Fourth Stall is not recommended for children younger than the age of 12, due to violence and some slight swearing (only a couple of words that aren't THAT bad).

Cupcake Diaries Series

This series is about a group of girls (Katie, Mia, Alexis, and Emma) who meet on the first day of middle school and start a cupcake club. Middle School is hard for all of them but with the club and new friends, it starts to get better. After raising the most money at a fundraising event for their school their club becomes a business. They get called to make cupcakes for parties and also make them for different stores! There are 13 books in the series and book 14 is coming out this month.  If you want to find out what happens next, find the first book in the series, “Katie’s Cupcake Cure” at a store or library near you!

I, Q, the Series Review

I, Q is an amazing, thrilling, action novel series, with a sprinkle of James Bond-like action in it. The first book, Independence Hall, is about stepsiblings Q (Quest) and Angela, whose newlywed parents are the lead singers in a really popular band, Match. They’re all going on a huge tour to promote their new album, Rekindled. They’re heading for the first concert in Philadelphia. But when an old roadie/friend, Tyrone Boone, joins the band’s crew in the middle of Nevada things start to get crazy. Q and Angela will learn the truth about Angela’s supposedly deceased mother, Malak, a skilled Secret Service agent while being chased all through Philadelphia. In the second book, The White House, their parents will be performing a concert for the President himself, but when Q, Angela, and Boone find out there are spies in the White House, they get to work to bust them and protect the President’s daughter, Bethany. Finally, in the third book, Kitty Hawk, the terrorists from Book 2 make their escape. Luckily, Q, Angela, Boone, and the rest of their team chase after them, splitting up to chase different trucks heading in different directions. These three books are great for reading in the backseat of your car on a long road trip, while hanging out at home, or wherever else you are. I can’t wait for the fourth one, titled The Alamo.  Once you read the first three, I’ll bet you won’t be able to wait either.

An Accidental Adventure #1: We Are Not Eaten By Yaks

An Accidental Adventure #1 was an amazing read that kept me on the edge of my seat with its suspense, action, danger, and plot twists. The story is about the young twins Oliver and Celia Navel, who live with their mother and father at the Explorer’s Club. Oliver and Celia spend their days watching shows such as Agent Zero or Love At 30,000 Feet (These shows are mentioned heavily in the book), until one day, three years after the day their mom never returned from an exploration, when a mountain climber named Choden Thordup finds some notes that were written by Oliver and Celia’s mother.  According to the notes, she was close to finding the path to the Lost Tablets of Alexandria, which are supposedly located in the mythical city of Shangri-La.  Sir Edward S. Titheltorpe III, who doesn't believe in Shangri-La, bets the twin’s dad, Professor Ogden Navel, that he can’t find the Lost Tablets of Alexandria.  If Professor Navel loses, he must leave the Explorer’s Club in shame, and his children must become Sir Edward’s servants during every school break until they turn 18. But, if Sir Edward loses, he must install cable television into the Navel’s apartment.  Oliver and Celia are angry to be dragged along on this trip, but they’ll have other things to worry about….
